Anybody notice their fruit is odd lately?

I always buy fruit from the store, but lately the fruit has been odd. It looks fine on the outside, but when you bite into it it feels really dry and artificial. So far I had watermelon, peaches, and pears -- all ripe, but I have to stop eating them and throw them out. The inside of the pear I just bit into was almost like moistened chalk. Anyone have a clue what is up? (original story)
